Budget airlines often offer the cheapest flights
Prices are often lowest when you book your flight well in advance
Budget airlines
Many low-budget airlines fly to London airports. Especially when you book your flight a few months in advance, prices can be very low. For example, a flight from Eindhoven, the Netherlands to London Stansted with RyanAir costs as little as €0,02 (about €50 including taxes for a return flight) when booked a few months before departure. Other budget airlines are for example Air Berlin, British Airways, EasyJet, Excel Airways and German Wings.
Transportation from the airport to Central London
Do not take a cab from the airport to your hotel, since these are very expensive. UK Rail is also not very cheap, but at least more affordable. There are also special express trains from the airports to Central London. Travelling by bus is often the cheapest option. However, this often takes long because of the heavy traffic in Central Londen. It is often possible to change to the London Underground outside Central London, thus avoiding the traffic in Central London.
