Book your hotel
Always book your hotel (or hostel, B&B, campsite…) in advance
London can be a very busy place. If you don’t book your hotel (or any other accommodation) in advance, the hotel may not have any vacant rooms left. By booking in advance, you know for sure that a room is available for you when you arrive. More information about accommodation in London can be found on our Where to stay page.
Keep the following in mind:
- Many of the cheaper hotels are located in old Victorian buildings; this means that the rooms are rather small and accessability for the disabled is poor.
- If you plan to use public transport when you’re in London, check whether the hotel is close to a tube station (or a bus stop).
Rooms
Generally, there are four types of rooms available.
- Singe Room (1p) – These are pretty expensive (often almost the same price as a twin or double room)
- Twin Room (2p) – These rooms have two seperate beds
- Double Room (2p) – These rooms have one double bed, instead of two seperate beds
- Triple Room (3p) – Mostly these rooms have one double and one single bed; sometimes there are three single beds
