Petticoat Lane Market

London’s oldest and most famous street market

Petticoat Lane Market was established over 400 years ago, which makes it the oldest market in London. The street where the market takes place was first called Petticoat Lane, because mainly petticoats and lace were sold here. However, the name was changed into Middlesex Street by the prudish Victorians. You can mainly find clothes on this market; leather wear is one of the specialities. Also, new clothes from well-known chain stores and over-orders of designer goods are sold.
