Museum of London
A quarter of a million years of London history
The Museum of London covers London history from the Stone Age to the present. It’s the worlds largest urban history museum. Seven permanent exhibitions guide you through London history in a chronological order, with a strong emphasis on the built city and on urban development.
Access to all permanent exhibitions and most temporary exhibitions is totally free of charge. However, you have to pay a fee for the temporary exhibition ‘the London look’.
The new Museum in Docklands, which is part of the Museum of London group, but located in the Docklands, concentrates on the river Thames and the port, from the arrival of the Romans to the building of Canary Wharf.
