Natural History Museum

The most important natural history collection in the world

Image: http://www.wikipedia.org, Thorfinn Stainforth © 2001The Natural History Museum is, next to the Science Museum and the Victoria & Albert Museum, one of three large museums located on Exhibition Road. It is home to the largest and most important natural history collection in the world. There are five main collections, covering botany, entomology, mineralogy, palaeontology and zoology.

The building in which the museum is housed is an example of high Victorian architecture, with a terracotta facade. It’s one of the most distinctive buildings in London.

All galleries in the museum are free, except for some temporary exhibitions.
