Youth hostels are an alternative to the (more expensive) hotels in London. Although they are called youth hostels, they are also accessible for adults.

The following prices can be used as a guideline: if you stay in a dorm room (shared accomodation), the price is about £ 12,50 per person. For private double rooms, the price is about £ 25,- per person. You can find more information about various hostels in London on our Hostel listing page.

    Advantages

    • Youth hostels are quite cheap
    • Most accommodations are located in Central London

    Disadvantages

    • There is less comfort and privacy than in a hotel, especially when you don’t have a private room
    • Youth hostels often are more noisy than hotels
    • Breakfast is not always included; also, you often have to bring your own linen
    • Most hostels only have bunk beds, which is not very romantic when you’re in London with your partner
